DIY T-shirt Turban Headband

I love Halloween and making my costumes! This year Patience and I were Tinkerbell and Snow White! Here is how I made the costumes!
For Tinkerbell I was very lucky to find this sleeveless green dress at GoodWill that looked somewhat similar to Tinkerbell's (except hers is completely strapless). But with this dress basically being the look I was going for all I had to do was cut it, no sewing!
Tinkerbell
I just cut triangles out of the bottom of the dress and cut a slit at the bust, poked holes in each side of the slit and used the extra green fabric (from the lining of the dress) for the ribbon.
Accessories-hair in a bun, wings and add green pom poms to the toe of your shoes!
Snow White
Accessories-I used a headband that I never wear anymore and glued red wire ribbon to it and make a bow and glued that on top of it---I did the same slit with ribbon as the Tinkerbell costume---and since the blue dress material was very flimsy, I cut the back of the top completely open, poked holes in it and used extra blue fabric so the back of the top laced up the back as well. This way the top is adjustable.

I saw this shirt online that I loved because it has "I'm really a mermaid" printed on it...and I love mermaids! I thought it would be cooler with a mermaid's tail on it...so this is how I created my own...

Now, how to create your own!...
Let the bleach dry for about an hour or a little longer then wash shirt by itself

One of my best friends was given this cool fabric from Africa and wanted a skirt made from it...here is a very easy way to make a skirt!
Find an old skirt that you no longer wear
Cut the fabric you are going to use in large squares and iron it. Then sew the fabric to the front and back of the skirt!
This was a yoga skirt so it had the fold, I liked using this because the skirt can be worn as a high-waisted skirt or folded. Sew fabric over the inside and outside of the fold.
The skirt was originally stretchy material, since it is now covered in fabric the skirt will no longer be stretchy so I added a zipper to the back so it would fit. Just cut a slit in the back long enough for the zipper and sew it in.
Wear the skirt high-waisted
or folded...
then make a cute outfit! :)

Hey Y'all! I know this is after Halloween but every year I make my costume and wanted to share how quick and easy it is AND unique to you!
This year I was Wonder Woman...I found a swimsuit on walmart.com that was a tankini top and boy short bottoms and they happened to have it in red and blue! The top was $6 and bottoms $3!

Needle and thread to sew on sequins
