One day living room makeover!

Monday, March 12, 2012

One of my friends recently asked me makeover her living room.  She wanted mod, femininity and 70s.
Budget $350.00
Timeframe 1 day

Here is what I did!

Coffee table-Ikea $14.99
Cover with fabric and tie with ribbon on all four corners
Use trivets as coasters (will hold two drinks and looks cool!) $3.99 @ Ross
Wine bottles covered with printed computer paper
Wine glasses ($1 @ Dollar Tree) turned over for candle holders
Total for Coffee Table makeover: $27.97
Rug under Coffee table from Ikea $19.99
I like using 3 curtains on a window...I just think it looks cool
The 2 framed flower pictures are from Ross 14.99 each
The plant stand is from Ross as well $9.99
The book shelf was already in the living room on a different wall so I cornered it and added plants, books and framed pictures to the top.
The artificial tree to the right of the picture has lights on it for a cozy/romantic feel.
Total for window area makeover: $66.94
End tables from Ikea 9.99 each
Candle holders made from vases $1 at the Dollar Tree
Egyptian man (already had)
Here is how to make the candle holders:
Total for 2 end table makeovers: $49.98
Pillows and wall art are two of my favorite things!
To spruce up a couch add pillows of other colors you have used in the room...don't be afraid that something "won't match"  if you choose colors you have already used it will pull everything together!
These pillows are from Ross and Garden Ridge...ranging from 4.99-9.99.
The throw blanket is from Garden Ridge 9.99.
The vintage magazine covers are just printed from offline and framed with white Dollar tree frames
Arrange art however you would like keeping everything close together.
The key is to not try and make a shape or pattern or measure...just do it.
Total couch and art wall makeover: $58.95

Total cost for makeover about $225.00
